Bun Cha Ha Noi is certainly one of the world's most significant dishes to try in a life time if you're a Vietnamese cuisine fan! Sadly, it's not very famous here in Vancouver as not many restaurants sell this. Meet DDMau, the only restaurant up until now that sells the closet feeling to the real taste of Bun Cha in Vancouver, guaranteed by a Hanoian! Bun Cha Ha Noi If you're familiar with Bun Thit Nuong, Bun Cha can be quite similar, but on an upgraded and more complicated version since it has both charcoaled meatballs and sliced grilled pork, with different way of eating too! It's unique as the dish has fish sauce as the broth, and you can even slurp it! Panda Panna Cotta We ate this Pandan Panna Cotta as the dessert as we thought it was normal Panna Cotta. DDMau surprised us as they make a twist in original Panna Cotta, replace the sweetened cream with pandan! It tastes like Vietnamese dessert more than Panna Cotta, not too good, but it's unique as yu can taste the peanuts and salty flavor as you eat. Tips

Jingle Bao is a unique dumpling restaurant located in Downtown, Vancouver. Its mission is for the world “to share the great experience of pork bun”, and Jingle Bao sure has brought the experience to life. It is famous for its rainbow soup Xiao Long Bao (Shanghai dumplings), known as the Signature Magnificent Seven! Some of the other popular items include Supersize Xiao Long Bao, Crystal Shrimp Dumplings, and Green Tea Sesame Ball, so of course, I tried them all. The Magnificent Seven tasted as magnificent as its name suggested. These beautifully handmade colourful dumplings come in 7 different flavours, don’t worry, they are natural food colouring. The yellow is curry; the green is spinach; the orange is orange shrimp; the pink is sriracha; the maroon is mushroom truffle; the center blue-grey is garlic, and last but not least, an original. These little Xiao Long Bao were so flavourful I had so much fun dwelling in each flavour. My two most favourites were curry and sriracha because I really enjoy flavourful and savory tastes. Just delicious! Next is the Supersize Xiao Long Bao. I wasn’t nearly as impressed by the taste as I was by the appearance of the Bao. It still tasted good and absolutely authentic. The look, on the other hand, caught all of my attention. It came with a syringe filled with vinegar, and you can squeeze it to add flavouring to the Bao. Decorated with edible flowers and a straw on the side used for sucking out the precious savoury broth, I felt like I was on a beach in Hawaii drinking my uniquely made cocktail. The Crystal Shrimp Dumplings looked so elegant it was difficult for me to dig in because they were too beautiful to be eaten, but I had to. I was impressed by the texture and the flavour of the shrimp. I don’t know how they managed to keep the shrimp taste with all the flavouring going on. Impressive! Lastly, the Green Sesame Ball for dessert. I’m always the bubble tea type of dessert person, but after tasting the Green Sesame Ball, I feel there is a chance I might switch. The crispy outer layer gave me a satisfying crunch. With the juicy matcha sauce carefully sheltered by the firm sticky rice, the Green Sesame Ball tasted more precious than ever. Absolutely delicious. I left the restaurant a happy person with a stomach full of joy. Address: 774 Denman St, Vancouver, BC V6G 1C9

They serve eggsceptionally delicious sandwiches, french toast, desserts, coffee, and many more! They are widely known for their Korean-style sandwiches. However, I decided to try their french toast which I felt was very unique and 'not so ordinary'. The Ocean was the perfect eggsample of unique blend of flavours. The sweetness of the toast and the savoury coming from the smoked salmon and the egg was just to die for. You don't have to dig too deep to find the creamy egg salad that is hidden underneath the layers of salmon. The Fighter is also worth checking out. This french toast is made with serrano ham and is just as phenomenal. I have never had french toast like this before. Truly eggscellent! Don't forget to get your daily dose of coffee. Their Mint Latte gave me Christmas vibes. It was a nice blend of bitter and sweetness, plus the mint was not too overpowering. You can also try their Salted Caramel Latte which is also very delicious. Keep note that this one is a bit sweeter but you can always ask your server to lessen the sugar! Egg Bomb

Check out Korean style egg sandwiches from a newly opened Luckful Nest in Steveston Village in Richmond. Spicy Crawfish Sandwich There were a few different choices but when I saw the words "spicy" and "crawfish," I was quickly sold. It sounded like the most unique option and it was a great choice. The crawfish was delicious - salty, savoury, and a hint of sweet reminiscent of lobster meat. And of course, the special creamy dressing added some nice spicy kick. If you don't handle spice well, this sauce may actually surprise you! In case you are wondering where's the egg in an egg sandwich, it's in the middle. The egg was fluffy and nicely complimented spiciness from the crawfish. Korean Style Toast One thing that makes Korean style egg sandwiches so good is the toast. It's pan-grilled with lots (I mean LOTS) of butter or margarine. Growing up in South Korea, I remember the sweet aroma of melted butter toasts coming from food trucks selling these sandwiches. Luckful Nest has done a pretty good job of sending me down my memory lane with these delicious toasts, though I would personally prefer even more butter. Overall, it was a great brunch (also very filling) and I would definitely go back to try the other egg sandwiches. Note: Luckful Nest does not have seating inside, though they have a very nice interior with lots of plants. They do some seats available outside where you can enjoy the sandwiches if the weather is nice. Luckful Nest
